I’m excited to announce that I’ll be teaching a weekly Flow & Yin Yoga class at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in Fairfax, Virginia, held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:00pm.
Whether you’re feeling tense, tired, or simply needing a weekly reset, this class is a space to come back home to yourself… body, mind, and spirit. This offering brings together two powerful practices of yoga, flow and yin, in a single, grounding, and rejuvenating practice.
The “flow” portion of class gently invites us into movement. Through a series of breath-linked postures, we begin to shake off the stress and stillness of the day. Flow helps to awaken the body, boost circulation, and release physical tension. It also supports mental clarity, inviting us to get out of our heads and into the present moment.
For many of us who spend hours seated or navigating the noise of daily life, flow can feel like a moving meditation, a way to return to ourselves through mindful, intentional motion.
After moving the body, we ease into stillness with the “yin” portion of practice. Yin yoga involves long-held, floor-based postures that target the deeper connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, and joints) rather than muscle. These poses invite us to soften, surrender, and unwind layers of stored tension that we often don’t even realize we’re carrying.
Yin offers us the opportunity to slow down and listen more deeply. It nourishes the nervous system, supports flexibility and joint health, and creates space: physically, emotionally, and energetically.
Life is about balance. So is yoga. The combination of flow and yin gives us the best of both worlds, movement and stillness, strength and softness, action and release. This class is an invitation to experience both the active and receptive parts of your being, and to reconnect with your whole self.
In our busy, overstimulated world, we often lose touch with ourselves… our bodies, our breath, our needs. This class is about more than just physical movement; it’s about creating intentional space to return to yourself. Through the blend of flow and yin, you’re invited to reconnect with your inner rhythms, to listen gently, and to release what no longer serves. The practice doesn’t end when you roll up your mat; its benefits ripple outward, helping you meet the rest of your life with more clarity, presence, and ease. This is your space to come home to yourself: on the mat and beyond.
This class is for you, whether you’re new to yoga, returning after a break, or seeking a more intentional practice. You don’t need to be flexible, experienced, or stress-free to begin. Just bring yourself as you are.
Join me Tuesdays from 7:00 – 8:00pm at Sun & Moon Yoga Studio in Fairfax. Let this be your space to move, breathe, rest, and reset. Visit Sun & Moon’s website to register in advance; I’d love to practice with you, and I hope to see you on the mat soon!
