A Letter from Joanna

Dear Reader,

Over the past several years, my work as a therapist has centered on helping people reconnect with themselves in meaningful, lasting ways. Again and again, I have seen how emotional healing deepens when we include the body in the process. While conversation and insight are powerful, true change often unfolds when the mind and body are invited into the same space.

Introducing Joanna Barrett Yoga & Wellness

With this understanding in mind, I am very happy to share the launch of a new branch of my work: Joanna Barrett Yoga & Wellness.

This new offering naturally builds on everything I have already been doing through Joanna Barrett Therapy & Wellness. It reflects how my professional path has unfolded over time, integrating my background as both a licensed mental health counselor and a yoga teacher, with extensive training in trauma-informed practice, nervous system regulation, and emotional wellness.

While therapy remains at the heart of my work, I have long felt called to create additional ways for people to experience healing through movement, breath, and mindful awareness. 

Joanna Barrett Yoga & Wellness is the home for these offerings.

Therapy Continues

I will continue to offer psychotherapy services through Joanna Barrett Therapy & Wellness, as individual therapy remains a central part of my professional work. I will continue supporting clients through talk therapy with the same care, thoughtfulness, and clinical expertise. Expanding the Work

The new Joanna Barrett Yoga & Wellness platform expands the ways people can engage in this work. While therapy is deeply personal and individualized, yoga and mindfulness practices enable healing in additional ways that are accessible, experiential, and often communal.

These offerings are designed to help individuals and organizations learn how to regulate the nervous system, release stored tension, and cultivate a deeper sense of steadiness in both body and mind.

Offerings through Joanna Barrett Yoga & Wellness include:

Private sessions rooted in gentle, trauma-informed yoga to support emotional healing, nervous system balance, and inner growth. This work is guided by the Four Pathways to Healing and meets you where you are with care, intention, and respect for your body’s pace.

Public classes, guided meditations on Insight Timer, and retreats are also available, offering additional ways to stay connected to your practice.

Structured experiences designed to support lasting, meaningful change. Upcoming offerings include the 6-week From Outer Chaos to Inner Calm, the 3-month Yoga for Emotional Liberation, and the on-demand Yoga for Therapists program.

Each program brings together movement, breath, mindfulness, and emotional wellness principles to help you regulate your nervous system, deepen self-awareness, and reconnect with your steadiness. Through consistent practice, you begin to carry a greater sense of calm, clarity, and self-trust into your daily life.

Opportunities to bring this work into professional and community spaces. I offer speaking engagements, organizational wellness programs, and consulting for yoga teachers and mental health professionals.

These offerings include workshops, webinars, retreats, podcast conversations, and conference presentations, as well as personalized mentoring to support your growth, leadership, and long-term sustainability in your work.

These offerings are rooted in the same philosophy that guides my therapy work: healing begins when we slow down, listen inward, and learn to trust the wisdom of the body.
